Course overview: 

People with a severe mental illness die up to 25 years earlier than the general population due to preventable physical illness. To decrease the mortality of this group, an annual physical health check should be carried out in primary care with the appropriate support offered for identified needs. The training is from a national expert in the subject who is passionate about enabling primary care practitioners to deliver care that aims to both increase the life expectancy of people with SMI and improve their health.
