This session will cover:

Aim – to provide delegates with the skills for obtaining accurate blood pressures.

Learning outcomes – at the end of the session the participant should be able to;

• Understand the therapeutic need for taking blood pressures

• Understand common terminology used for blood pressures

• Identify factors that affect the accuracy of blood pressure recordings

• Correctly perform a manual and electronic blood pressure

• Basic anatomy and physiology

• Actions required for true abnormal blood pressures

• Identify normal ranges Course materials, equipment and competencies will be provided
