This course is aimed at any health care professional who participates in the assessment, management, and delivery of care for people with or at risk of developing diabetes.

This is a multi-professional course for anyone involved in the assessment and management of people with diabetes or at risk of developing diabetes and is taught at Level 6/degree level.

The focus is on prevention, recognition, and management; supporting patients in making lifestyle choices, enabling them to manage their health and wellbeing. On the successful completion of the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to suggest, initiate and vary treatment and support based on individual needs. They will have a sound knowledge of relevant diabetes literature and cardiovascular complications. They will understand the strategic approaches to the delivery of appropriate care, having the confidence and competence to support people in managing their care.
