· Understand the importance of glycaemic control and the progressive nature of type 2 diabetes (T2D)
· Discuss the initial (pre-insulin) options that are available to treat high blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes
· Assist the patient throughout their use of the various pre-insulin management and treatments, including diet, exercise, and oral and non-insulin injectable therapies
· Demonstrate knowledge of national and local guidelines for the management of type 2 diabetes
· Give advice regarding driving regulations according to current DVLA guidelines
